Sound installation for collective dataflow jam
Networked computer running PureData, microphone, audio interface, headphones.
This interactive piece was realized in the context of a «dataflow jam session»:
A microphone captured local ambient sound, which was analyzed in real-time by a programmed piece of software. Data resulting from this analysis gets broadcast for other participating artists to freely make use of it, while the original incoming sound signal is simultaneously altered by the incoming data from the other programs running in the context of the event. The new modulated sound is subsequently transmitted back to the network.
