Park bench, audio player, headphones
Originally an open series that plays on R. Murray Schafer’s concept of the soniferous garden by manipulating field recordings of landmark urban parks. At the installation presented during the II Bucaramanga Biennial, visitors could sit on a bench and listen to a piece composed with recordings of Parque de la Independencia in Bogota, whose history dates back to the vast industrial exhibit of 1910 that commemorated the country’s first centenary of independence. It included a large pond and several pavilions that emulated elements from disparate places, times and architectural styles, of which, after several urban projects, only the Light Pavilion remains today.
